The seafront, as seen from Lynton House, has a beautifully kept promenade, which is flat and wide, making ‘a stroll along the prom’ a real pleasure.
The new children’s state-of-the-art play area, adventure golf course and the grand Victorian Pier are all very popular with young and old alike. The Den, a large, grassed area, opposite the Pier is ideal for a leisurely game of cricket or a picnic.
Teignmouth Town Beach, just below the promenade, is long and sandy and stretches from the mouth of the River Teign east towards Dawlish.
The river beach, located on the estuary side of the town (just to the rear of Lynton House), takes you back to days gone by. Here you will find local fishermen mending their nets, boats bobbing up and down with the tide and children splashing in the shallows.
Teignmouth is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful area of South Devon. There is something for everyone: Dartmoor National Park; Exeter, Newton Abbot and Plymouth for shopaholics; magnificent beaches and the nearby resorts of Dawlish, Shaldon, Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
